EDM Machines

The EDM Machines (Electrical Discharge Machining) Process, also known as a Spark Machining, is a metal fabrication process, to obtain a desired shape to any conductive material by using electrical discharges (sparks).

The Wire EDM Machines, use a metallic wire (usually a molybdenum wire) to cut a programmed shape in a workpiece. The material is removed from the workpiece by a series of rapidly recurring sparks between the wire and the metal piece, separated by a dielectric liquid. The wire operates without any physical contact with the metal surface, eliminating thus any mechanical action on the workpiece. This remarkable attribute is one of the key advantages of EDM Machines. With this non-contact cutting method, the properties of the metal surface remain unchanged, free from any deformations or microcracks.

The dielectric liquid efficiently flushes away the removed material from the machining area, undergoing filtration before being reintroduced into the circuit. It undergoes a rigorous process of double high-temperature heat treatment and natural aging for a minimum of 8 months to prevent any deformations over time.
